Drone crop spraying specialisms

Precision agri-aviation for targeted application without tramline damage.

Farming is changing. Stop fighting the land.

Traditional tractor spraying causes issues that directly impact your bottom line. Precision ag-drones solve them instantly.

Severe Soil Compaction

Heavy machinery compacts the soil, reducing water infiltration and root growth, ultimately lowering crop yields in wheel tramlines. Drones fly above the canopy, leaving zero footprint.

Waterlogged Fields

When the British weather turns and fields are too wet for a tractor, disease can spread fast. Drones allow you to spray or seed immediately, regardless of ground conditions.

Inaccessible Terrain

Steep hills, bracken-covered valleys, and awkward field corners are dangerous or impossible for tractors to reach safely. A heavy-lift drone handles extreme topography effortlessly.

Aerial application is heavily regulated. We ensure compliance.

You cannot hire just anyone to spray a field in the UK. Dropping payloads and applying chemicals from the air is strictly controlled by both the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Operating heavy-lift agricultural drones (like the DJI Agras series) requires advanced CAA Operational Authorisations (such as an OSC or specific PDRA) due to their immense weight and payload capacity. Furthermore, applying any pesticide from the air requires an explicit aerial application certificate from the HSE.

We act as a strict gatekeeper for UK farmers. Before an agricultural drone pilot can quote on your brief, we manually verify their heavy-lift CAA permissions, insurance, and compliance records.

Why progressive farms are switching to drone application.

The ROI on precision agricultural drones goes far beyond just saving time.

Drastic Chemical Savings

Stop blanket spraying. Using multispectral mapping data, our drones can perform highly targeted spot-spraying, reducing your chemical use and costs by up to 30% while being kinder to the environment.

Better Canopy Penetration

The massive downward thrust generated by the drone's rotors pushes the sprayed liquid deep into thick foliage, coating the underside of leaves where pests and diseases often hide.

Zero Crop Damage

Driving a tractor through a mature crop inevitably crushes a percentage of your yield in the tramlines. Drones glide completely above the canopy, ensuring every single plant reaches harvest.

"We had a particularly wet spring and couldn't get the tractor on the field without tearing it up. Hired a drone pilot through the network to broadcast cover crop seeds via drone. Fast, efficient, and zero ground damage."

Richard B.

Arable Farmer, Lincolnshire

"Trying to tackle bracken on steep valley sides used to take a team of guys on foot days of back-breaking work. The drone pilot we hired mapped it and spot-sprayed it perfectly in an afternoon."

Colin M.

Estate Manager, Scottish Borders

"We run a large vineyard and needed a highly targeted application of liquid fertiliser over very specific rows flagged by our agronomist. The drone hit the exact coordinates flawlessly. We'll be using this service again."

Agricultural Drone FAQ

Important information about aerial application and seeding in the UK.

Can you legally spray pesticides from a drone in the UK?
Yes, but it is heavily restricted. To spray Plant Protection Products (PPPs), the drone pilot must have explicit approval from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), specific CAA permissions for a drone over 25kg (like an OSC), and the chemical itself must be approved for aerial application. Many drone pilots specialize in applying fertilizers, seeds, and biologicals which face fewer restrictions than pesticides.
How many acres can a drone cover per hour?
Coverage depends on the specific drone model (e.g., DJI Agras T30 vs T40), the application rate (litres/kg per hectare), and battery turnaround times. A modern heavy-lift agricultural drone can typically cover between 30 to 40 acres per hour for standard liquid applications.
Can drones spread solid cover crop seeds?
Absolutely. By swapping the liquid spray tank for a solid spreader attachment, agricultural drones are incredibly effective at broadcasting cover crop seeds, granular fertilizers, and slug pellets with high precision.
What is a multispectral survey?
Before spraying, many drone pilots offer a multispectral survey. The drone flies over the field with a specialized camera that captures light beyond the visible spectrum (like Near-Infrared). This generates an NDVI map, which highlights exact areas of crop stress, disease, or nutrient deficiency, allowing for highly targeted "spot spraying" rather than blanket covering the whole field.
